PLAYER
contact: PM to this journal.
active times/pace: CEST/CET player. Tries to be online at least during the evening my time, but it varies. More one tag a day player than anything, but if you hit me up at the right time, I can still boomerang a bit.
brackets/prose: Definitely brackets preference, but will match. I default to present tense, but can also match other tenses.
offensive subjects/triggers: Not any.
IN CHARACTER
physical affection: Go for it.
physical violence: Sure, give me a heads up if you're aiming to do severe damage.
relationships: M/M, if that's where we end up. Outside memes that are specifically designed for it, I prefer not to assume any romantic CR. I like the build-up more than the sex.
psychic info: Ask. Generally, there are a lot of daddy issues and religious doubts.
magical info: No magical powers, but happy to play opposite people who do.
medical info: Nothing relevant. He's in good health.
offensive subjects/triggers: James comes from a religious family and studied to become a pastor himself. Although he quit his studies when he realized he was gay and despite the current status of his family relations (not very good), he hasn't given up his faith, it's just a very complicated thing for him. I realize this is a sensitive subject matter that many people have experienced on their own bodies, so if it's a trigger for you, either just the religious parts or the family parts, let me know and I'll avoid tagging you.

History: Out of a prominent protestant Christian family in Richmond, Virginia, with a father who was a pastor and him being the oldest son, it was always just expected that James would follow in his footsteps. He grew up in what felt like a loving, caring environment, took pride in being a good boy, a quick study and for the first eighteen years of his life, he mostly just strived to become a pastor and carrying on the family tradition. Maybe find a nice girl at Princeton, get married, have children. However, James didn't find a nice girl at Princeton, what he found was Benjamin who turned his world upside down. The two fell in a passionate, wild love and spent a year, trying to figure out how to navigate their own sexuality in a very conservative environment. James came to the conclusion that he had to quit and come out, stop living a lie - whereas Benjamin decided to do the opposite, when he saw the resulting mess of James' family life. That is, not quit, not come out and not continue seeing James. Suddenly on his own, James moved back home briefly, only to try and pick things up, but especially his father was loudly disappointed in him and after a few months, the constant admonishments got too much. He packed his things again and moved to Los Angeles, deciding that until he knew what else to do with himself, he'd learn to surf and embrace all the things he had until now kept down. He moved into a small bedroom in an apartment owned by a couple of other young gay men, Noah and Oliver, both of them out of rich L.A. families, and soon ended up paying an unremarkable rent in turn for semi-regular sex with them, an arrangement that suited him fine.
Tidbits: His mother is Hispanic, from a Catholic family and met his father at university, moving from L.A. to Virginia to marry him after having converted to protestantism. They visited Los Angeles frequently while he grew up to see his grandparents who never held anything against their daughter. James only very rarely swears. Generally, he doesn't discuss religion, if he can avoid it. He has a large tattoo of the words "Proverbs 4:23" drawn in black ink along his ribs on the left side of his chest. James has an exceedingly nice singing voice, due to having sung in his church's choir since he was seven, but rarely sings unprompted, though he has a secret dream of singing in a band someday. He also plays the trumpet.
